Rob Skipworth, Horizon Designs Perth based Building Designer, believes that ones own imagination is the only barrier to any design. With the right insight to commercial and residential construction, a building is able to take the form of any imaginable shape and concept that will best suit the desired location and aspirations of the client. This is able to happen with the use of the most advanced materials, construction methods and cutting edge engineering as well a total understanding of the construction of buildings.

While some designs may initially appear to be controversial, every effort is made to make any architectural statement harmonise with its environment. Rob always investigates the local surrounds and endeavours to incorporate local shapes & features to create a unique and individual grand design.

Rob believes that a designer should be mentally and physically in harmony with the sites eco system and dynamics combined with the client’s expectations of what is achievable on a given budget. If any one of these criteria is compromised then the project is in danger of not achieving the spectacular result that is desired.

Our principle designer has also been on judging panels for the Building Designers Association of Western Australia Design Awards and has been a member since 1993.
